This policy explains what information soulmatesystem.com (“SoulmateSystem”, “we”) processes when you visit the site, why, and what choices you have. Questions: use our contact form.
Summary
- You can read everything on this site without creating an account or giving us personal information.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads on this site.
- Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through them, the shop may pay us a commission.
- Videos and quizzes from other providers only load when a page contains them; YouTube videos only load after you click play.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. When you visit a page, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. We do not use these logs to identify you. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Contact form
When you send a message, we receive your name, email address and message by email so we can reply. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the request comes from a human; Turnstile processes technical browser data for this purpose. To prevent abuse we keep a short-lived, irreversible code derived from your IP address (not the address itself) to limit the number of messages per hour. Messages are not stored on the website.
Article ratings
When you rate an article, we store the rating, the article and the date. To allow only one vote per article per day, we store an irreversible code derived from your IP address and the date — not the IP address itself. Your browser also remembers locally (in local storage) that you have voted. You can clear this in your browser settings.
Quizzes
The marriage intimacy quiz runs on this site. While you take it, your answers are kept in your browser (local storage) so you can continue where you left off; “Retake the quiz” clears them. The first name you can enter for your results stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
When you finish, we store your answers, your scores and the date — without your name, email or IP address — to evaluate the quiz and improve our guides and offers. Please do not enter names or contact details in the free-text answer. To limit repeat submissions we store the same irreversible, daily-changing code derived from your IP address as for ratings. To find questions where people stop, we also record which screens of the quiz a run reached and whether a course link on the results page was clicked, under a random ID created in your browser — without your answers. Quiz answers and these records are deleted after 24 months at the latest. Analytics only records that a quiz was started and finished, not your answers.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand which articles are read and how visitors find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes data such as your approximate location, device and the pages you visit. We do not use it for advertising, and IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies. See Google’s privacy policy.
Affiliate links
SoulmateSystem is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. We also work with other affiliate programs and shops (for example ShareASale/Awin, ClickBank and individual retailers).
When you click an affiliate link, you leave our site. The shop or affiliate network may set cookies to attribute a purchase to us. We do not receive your personal information from them — only anonymous reports about commissions. Their privacy policies apply on their sites.
Embedded content
Some pages embed content from other providers:
- YouTube (Google LLC) – loaded from youtube-nocookie.com only after you click play.
- Vimeo and Wistia – videos on some articles.
- Interact – the quiz on the love language test page.
When such content loads, the provider receives your IP address and may set cookies according to its own privacy policy. Answers you give in an embedded quiz are processed by that provider.
Cookies
Our own pages do not set cookies. Cookies may be set by Google Analytics, by embedded content when it loads, and by shops after you click an affiliate link. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, or the EU/UK), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy, correction or deletion, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, use our contact form. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
For visitors from the EU/UK: we process data based on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site and understanding its use (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), to answer your messages (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR), or based on your consent where required. Some providers named above are located in the USA. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
Children
This site is not intended for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We update this policy when our services change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
